The distribution history of this plush is not well documented. All known examples feature a tag bearing the Japanese-language Viva Piñata logo, and as of 2026, no versions with non-Japanese branding have been identified.

According to an individual who stated they were employed in the Product Management department of Xbox Japan during the release period of Viva Piñata, the plush was not made available for retail sale and was instead distributed internally to company employees.
