Alert

Alerts are popups that appear in Viva Piñata's head-up display and tell the player about important events going on in and around the garden. Alerts can be accessed by pressing down on the D-pad, and appear from left to right, with the rightmost Alerts being the newest. Some Alerts pause the game (e.g. leveling up) and bring up a dialog box, and others simply appear at the bottom right and allow the game to continue. When scrolling through Alerts with the D-pad, the player can press A to bring up a dialog box containing a detailed description of the Alert, or press B to dismiss the Alert.
