Sour Bonboon is a sour baboon piñata and the sour version of the Bonboon. It is the final sour unlocked in Viva Piñata and in Pocket Paradise, and starts fights in the garden.

Behavior
The Sour Bonboon will roam about the garden, eventually approaching a resident piñata. It will whisper in its ear, pointing toward another piñata in the garden, as if spreading rumors. After this, the piñata will run over to the piñata the Sour Bonboon directed it to, and start a fight. This often causes piñatas that normally do not mind each other to start fighting.

You are a level 34 gardener or better.

Has lost a fight to a member of the Syrupent family. (Syrupent, Twingersnap, or Fourheads)
Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise
- You are a level 35 gardener or better.
- You are a level 37 gardener or better.
- Has lost a fight to a member of the Syrupent family. (Syrupent, Twingersnap, or Fourheads)
Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise
- You are a level 9 gardener or better.
Defeated by one of the Syrupent family. (Syrupent, Twingersnap, or Fourheads)
Tips
While any Syrupent family member is able to tame the Sour Bonboon, the odds of them winning the fight is much better if they are one of the more advanced species. The common Syrupent is very unlikely to win against a Sour Bonboon, unless it has been heavily trained (only possible in Trouble in Paradise).
While it has the highest chance of winning the fight, going all the way up to a Fourheads is unneccesary, as a Twingersnap is plenty strong enough to defeat the Sour Bonboon quite reliably. A Tussle Tricorn can be equipped to raise the piñata's odds of winning even further. This means to tame the Sour Bonboon, Syrupents can be bred once to obtain a Twingersnap with no further work required.
