"Hello there my triangulated circular friend. Can I bring to your attention the arrival of my mobilistic dwelling and the tinkerific tool that lies within - myself!"

Bart’s Exchange is the wagon located in the Village where Bart lives and operates his tinkering business. From this location, the player can hire Bart to travel to the garden and tinker with items, transforming them into new objects.

Description

Tinkering

Bart offers three levels of service, bronze, silver, and gold. Each has a greater chance of success, but also go up in price.

More research is needed. Details: Rate of success for tinker tickets. Also find percentage of base value each one costs.

Silver 40%
Gold 150%

To use Bart’s service, the desired tinker tier must first be selected. The player then returns to the garden and selects the items to be tinkered; only items eligible for tinkering can be selected. If an item that is normally selectable cannot be chosen, it may currently be in use (for example, by a piñata), or the game may need to be restarted.

Once the selected items are confirmed, Bart will leave his shop and travel to the garden. While he is present, he can be selected and directed to additional items eligible for tinkering. Bart will prioritize the new request and prompt for the desired tinker tier. Only one additional item can be ordered at a time in this manner.

Upon reaching an item, Bart will wave his hands as yellow magic surrounds it. If the tinkering attempt fails, the item remains unchanged and Bart appears disappointed. If the attempt succeeds, the item transforms into a new form and Bart performs a celebratory dance.

After all tinkering attempts are completed, Bart returns to his shop. His shop cannot be accessed until he has returned.

Notes

  • Only the flowerheads of the rose and the sunflower can be tinkered into sweets. This tinker is also only available in Trouble in Paradise.
  • Colored bones can be tinkered into dinosaur bones in a fixed repeating order, regardless of their color. The first colored bone tinkered becomes a Skull, the second becomes Ribs, and the third becomes a Spine. The sequence then repeats, with the fourth bone becoming a Skull, followed by Ribs and Spine again.
  • All gems will turn into a Rainbow Gem, regardless of the original color.
  • The original Viva Piñata and Pocket Paradise only have one instance of an item being able to be tinkered twice. This is corn, to bread, to sandwich. Trouble in Paradise added another occurrence of this, with milk, to cheese, to cheesecake.

Trivia

  • According to Bart, there has been at least one instance where the handbrake on his caravan has broken, causing the whole shop to roll into the river.
