The Captain's Cutlass is a decorative sword that can be placed in the Garden. It is purchasable from Ivor Bargain in Viva Piñata, and from Costolot's Store in TIP. In both games the sword costs 11000 Chocolate Coins.
The sword was modelled after Captain Blubber's sword from the Banjo-Kazooie series.
Description
The Captain's Cutlass is a sword stuck in the ground, similar to the Sword Mk2. In the journal entry, it states that there is a sticker on the hilt reading 'Property of Blubber, anyone that touches this will be SAT on', in-game there is no visible sticker on the hilt. The cutlass itself has been redesigned to fit the Viva Piñata art style, having a pattern on the blade, and a more colorful alternating striped pattern on the hilt and grip.
Gameplay
The Captain's Cutlass keeps Professor Pester and Ruffians out of the garden permanently as long as it remains placed.
In Trouble in Paradise the Captain's Cutlass no longer scares Pester, but still keeps all Ruffians out of the garden forever. Meaning that while there is still a way to permanently scare off all Ruffians, there is no longer a permeant solution to Pester.
