While not located directly in town, Langston’s Challenges can be accessed from the Village menu in ''Trouble in Paradise''. Here you can accept orders for different piñatas from parties all over the world. Completing these will award the player with different rewards, such as money, experience, progress on the Computer Records, and even brand new items and accessories. Checking these regularly is also a good way to discover new piñatas or variants you otherwise wouldn’t know about.

The Village is the primary settlement on Piñata Island, and is home to all of the island's shops and businesses. The Village can be visited via its own dedicated menu.

Shops

Costolot’s Store

Costolot’s Store is the town's general store where most items can be purchased. Seeds, fertilizer, fruits, vegetables, garden decor and even candy are all available here. Costolot’s will also purchase unwanted items, much to the proprietor Lottie’s dismay.

Willy Builder

Attached to Costolot’s Store is Willy Builder. It is run by Willy, who offers up his construction services. Piñata homes and special buildings can be ordered from here, after which Willy will visit the garden to complete the job.

Post Office

The local Post Office is run by Fannie Franker. Here, players can send and receive crates over Xbox LIVE. In Trouble in Paradise, piñatas caught from the Dessert Desert or Piñarctic will also be sent here. The Post Office can additionally store self-sent crates (useful mainly for transferring piñatas and items between gardens).

Bart’s Exchange

The caravan that can be seen around town belongs to Bart, who can be hired to tinker items. He offers three tiers of service: bronze, silver, and gold, each offering increasing chances of success.

Paper Pets

Paper Pets is the town's pet store, reluctantly run by Miss Petula, selling both domestic piñatas and accessories to dress up piñatas. Paper Pets is the only store besides Costolot’s who will buy items, being able to buy back any unwanted accessories. In Trouble in Paradise, piñatas are no longer sold here and all former domestic species can now be found in the wild.

Gretchen Fetchem's

Gretchen is the fashion forward hunter, and she offers her services from her store of the same name. Here, players can order almost any species of piñata that has previously resided in the garden. Gretchen offers a standard rate and an express rate, the latter of which is more expensive, but will retrieve the desired piñata much faster.

Arfur’s Inn

Arfur’s Inn is the local inn and pub, serving Arfur’s famous milk and cookies to everyone who visits. Helpers stay at the Inn, and Arfur can hire them out on request.

Doc Patchingo

Doc Patchingo is the resident doctor, operating out of his own practice in town. If a piñata gets sick, Patch can be called to heal them back up for a small fee. While Patch’s office had its own spot on the menu in the original Viva Piñata, this is no longer accessible in Trouble in Paradise. Patch’s services are still fully available, instead being ordered directly from the ill piñata.

Ivor Bargain

Once a certain beggar has been helped back on his feet, a large tent will be set up in the village. Ivor Bargain is a trader that visits the Village, selling exotic and powerful items. In Trouble in Paradise, neither Ivor nor his shop can be found anywhere. All items previously sold by Ivor are now available at Costolot’s Store.

Langston’s Challenges

While not located directly in town, Langston’s Challenges can be accessed from the Village menu in Trouble in Paradise. Here, the player can accept orders for different piñatas from parties all over the world. Completing these will award the player with different rewards, such as money, experience, progress on the Computer Records, and even brand new items and accessories. Checking these regularly is also a good way to learn about new piñatas and variants.
