Leafos is the first character seen upon arriving at the garden. She acts as the guide to the player, providing the game’s tutorial. After the tutorial is finished, Leafos will continue to assist the player by informing them about events happening in and around the garden and providing various bits of advice.
Leafos is the second child of Jardiniero, and is the only one of her siblings that still lives with him. She deeply misses her father’s garden, and is eager to help the gardener in restoring it to it’s former glory.
The in-game Journal is authored by Leafos. Most entries are assumed to be written by her, unless otherwise stated. Leafos also drew pictures for the Journal, however these are not seen in-game, as the Journal instead displays the 3D model for the subject.

Lore

Leafos was the second child born to Jardiniero and Mother, born while her mother was on shore leave. Mother would leave again soon after, leaving Leafos with her father and elder brother, Stardos.
She grew to adore her father's garden. So much she would bring flowers inside, and later would attempt to do the same with a Moozipan. This incident sparked Jardiniero to gift her paper and pencils, telling her to draw what she saw in the garden to bring into her room. Leafos loved the idea, and quickly filled all the space in her room. Jardiniero would then get the idea to bind the drawings into a book, creating the Journal.
Leafos would continue to live in the garden for many years. Her younger siblings, Storkos and Sidos, would soon join, and complete the family. One day, her parents would leave in the hunt for a Dragonache. The garden would be left in the care of Stardos, with Leafos to assist him. This unfortunately would quickly go awry. Lester, who had provided her parents with the map, would convince Stardos to meet with him in his hideout in the jungle. As soon as he was out of sight, Ruffians would attack the garden. They would destroy everything, and cause the remaining siblings to scatter. Leafos would hide inside the family home, and would remain there until Jardiniero returned. She would be the one to inform him of the grim news.
None of her siblings would ever return home, leaving only Leafos and her father in the destroyed garden. With Jardiniero wheelchair-bound and Leafos lacking the experience of him and her brother, neither would be up to the task of restoring the garden to its former glory. After several years, the pair would finally sell the land, hoping someone would come along to bring life back to the garden. The gardener would purchase plot, meeting with a crying Leafos in the barren garden, and beginning the game.
Gameplay
Leafos acts as a guide to the player throughout the game. At the beginning of Viva Piñata (2006), she gives the player the tutorial, teaching the basics of attracting piñatas, growing plants, and romancing. She also equips players with the tools needed to work in the garden, although they are in rough shape.
In Trouble in Paradise, the tutorial is much more indirect, with Leafos taking a backseat. Regardless, she is still there to help the player get on their feet.
After the tutorial, Leafos is often the one to provide information about different things going on in the garden. Whether it's a level up, fights, or an introduction to a new character or piñata, Leafos is usually the one to notify players via the alert system. In Trouble in Paradise, she will also give the player an idea of what they have unlocked after leveling up.
Every day from around 10am-7pm, she will visit the garden. She will wander around, observing the player's progress and interacting with resident piñatas. While she is visiting, she can be spoken to, providing advice, information about the other residents, world building, or even references to the game's development and other Rare titles. Be careful, though, as not all of Leafos' advice is accurate. She will sometimes mislead the player, although it is unknown if this is intentional or not. If it starts raining, Leafos may head home early.
More mischievous gardeners may decide to mess with Leafos, by hitting her with the shovel or watering her with the watering can. Doing this will cause Leafos to become angry with the player, and if her patience is pushed far enough (use the tool on her 5 times), she will revoke the offending tool for about 30 seconds.
Mini-Games
In-game testing needed. Details: Find the exact range of levels she prefers.

In Trouble in Paradise, two mini-games were added where players may compete against any character in the game. These are The Great Piñata Paperchase, and The P Factor. Leafos can appear as an opponent in either game, where the piñata she uses is randomized.
In The P Factor, she can instead be a judge. As a judge, Leafos will prefer low level or low value piñatas, such as Whirlms or Bunnycombs. She shares this criteria with Nana Urf, and has opposite tastes to Gretchen Fetchum and Professor Pester.
